Terms of Service

The agreement
These terms are a contract between you and [EndPlan Ltd], registered in Ireland ([company number], [registered address]). By creating an account you accept them. If you use EndPlan through a partner or employer plan, additional terms from that arrangement may also apply.
What EndPlan is, and isn’t
EndPlan is an encrypted information vault with a configurable release mechanism. It stores data you choose to record, descriptions of assets, documents, contacts, instructions, credentials, and messages, and releases access to people you designate, under conditions you configure.
EndPlan isnot: a bank, custodian, or trustee (we never hold, control, or transfer your assets or funds); a will or other testamentary instrument (it does not determine legal entitlement to any asset); a law firm, and nothing in the service is legal, tax, or financial advice. Where your vault and applicable law conflict, the law prevails: a release of information through EndPlan does not itself transfer ownership of anything.
Your account & master password
You must be 16 or older and provide accurate account information. Your vault is encrypted with keys derived from your master password, which never reaches us.If you lose your master password and your recovery kit, your vault contents are permanently unrecoverable, by design.You are responsible for storing your recovery kit safely. This zero-knowledge property is a feature of the service you are agreeing to, not a defect.
Your content
You own everything you put in your vault. You grant us only the limited licence necessary to store, transmit, and deliver your encrypted content as the service requires. Because content reaches us as ciphertext, we cannot review it, and responsibility for it is therefore yours (see section 5). Export of your content is available at all times, free of charge.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use EndPlan to store or transmit material that is unlawful for you to possess; to infringe others’ rights; to distribute malware; to attempt unauthorised access to our systems or other accounts (good-faith security research under our disclosure policy is welcome); or to resell the service without an agreement with us. We may suspend accounts engaged in abuse of the service itself; we cannot police vault contents we cannot read.
Trusted Circle & release
You confirm you may lawfully share the contact details of the people you add, and that those details are accurate. The release mechanism operates as you configure it: check-in cadence, escalation windows, optional Key People confirmation, and waiting period. You can pause, change, or cancel the process at any time before release completes.
We are responsible for executing your configuration faithfully. We are not responsible for outcomes caused by inaccurate contact details, unresponsive Key People, or configuration choices, including automatic release settings, that produce a release you did not intend. Once content is delivered to a recipient, its further use is outside our control.
Plans, trials & billing
Paid plans renew monthly or annually until cancelled. Trials are free, require no card, and simply end unless you subscribe. We may change prices with at least [30 days] notice, effective from your next renewal. Statutory withdrawal and refund rights for consumers are unaffected; otherwise, fees for a started billing period are non-refundable. If payment fails, your vault becomes read-only for a grace period of [90 days], export remains free, and we never withhold your data over an unpaid bill.
Cancellation & export
You can cancel in-app at any time, effective at the end of the billing period. On account deletion, your data is removed on the schedule in our Privacy Policy. If you die or become incapacitated while subscribed, the release mechanism operates per your configuration regardless of subsequent billing status for a period of [12 months].
Service changes & availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service; maintenance and factors outside our control can cause downtime. We may improve or change features, and will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce the service. Our client software is open source; the published code is authoritative as to what the client does.
If we ever shut down
If we discontinue EndPlan, we will give at least [90 days] notice, keep export available throughout that period, and publish guidance for operating the open-source client against your exported data. Where reasonably possible, we will offer a migration path before any shutdown.
Disclaimers & liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is”, and our total liability under these terms is capped at the fees you paid in the [12 months] preceding the claim. We are not liable for loss arising from a lost master password and recovery kit, inaccurate Trusted Circle details, your release configuration, or your breach of these terms. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (including for death, personal injury, or fraud), or affects statutory consumer rights.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections and forum rights in your country of residence. If any clause is found invalid, the rest remain in force.
Changes & contact
